So I’ve been playing around with Canvas for a while now, and it is quite a funky piece of work. It certainly has potential to make blog designing easier for the masses. I don’t think its quite there yet however. What do you think? Is this new funky green design better then the plain old […]

Trying to get to sleep last night my mind wandered over my recurrent desire to own a pet. Preferably a small dog that will stay a puppy forever. I was also thinking of my marketing-driven desire for an ipod nano. Most importantly I was considering the social impact each purchase would illicit from friends and […]

I unfortuneately missed Poor Whites on Foreign Correspondent recently, but I am informed by others that it was an excellent insight into the new South Africa.
As noted on the above site, the government minister made the interesting observation, questioning the attention paid to the plight of these “poor whites” - an island of […]

I recently found out about LibraryThing. It’s a semi-free online service where you can keep track of all the books you own/read. It’s free for under 200 books, and then only $25 for lifetime membership. It’s got some nice little features such as recommendations based on books you own, and a badge to put on […]

Spurred on by this article I recently read, I have been thinking about the problem of corruption in Majority World nations. As the FreeRepublic article above says, there is a conception among many people that the main obstacle to achieving social justice in African states is not the lack of will or money on the […]

Bear with me as I fill in my spare time by fiddling with wordpress. I’ve finally upgraded to Wordpress 2.02, loving it, and I also installed a funky little tool called Canvas, which has made layout changes much simpler.
Hopefully things will be readable by the end of the week.

Adsense now offer $1 for every US installation of Picasa, the photo editing and organisation program from Google. It’s a pretty slick program, that I use myself and heartily recommend (not just because I might make a buck out of it!). One the best features that I’ve used it for is to make funky collages […]
